Tredence worked with a leading pharmaceutical company that had a blockbuster prescription drug sold mainly through hospitals. The client had launched a price reduction campaign for hospitals and wanted to understand how the initiative affected drug sales, both at the hospital level and through affiliated physicians after discharge.
Tredence designed a dashboard to measure campaign effectiveness by separating the analysis into direct and indirect impact. It used the Hungarian assignment algorithm to identify comparable control hospitals and compared post-period procurement volumes, market shares, and physician Rx activity. The work helped the client see the campaign’s total impact and showed that contracted hospitals increased procurement of the drug by 12% more than non-contracted hospitals and improved market share by 2% more, while also indicating a need for greater physician sensitization.
