Fresenius, a global medical care group with over 270,000 employees and operations in more than 100 countries, faced the challenge of embedding a growing number of affiliates into a unified corporate structure and establishing standard payment processes. From Treasury and Finance to IT, goals included consolidation of bank accounts, optimization of payment flows, and simplification of group-wide IT infrastructure. To address this, Fresenius engaged TIS (Treasury Intelligence Solutions) and adopted the TIS Enterprise Payment Optimization Platform.

TIS implemented a cloud-based payment factory tightly integrated with SAP (using SAP PI) and the TIS Bank Transaction Manager to handle format conversion, bank communication and approval workflows, while enabling future payment methods and file uploads. The TIS solution eliminated local installation costs, harmonized IT and payment processes, supported in‑house cash handling, and delivered measurable benefits such as lower bank account maintenance, reduced bank transaction fees and savings on local IT/interface costs — outcomes attributed to the TIS platform.
