Survios, the VR game studio behind Raw Data — the first VR-exclusive title to reach #1 on Steam and to make $1 million in a month — needed to tame enormous, highly granular VR data (full-body motion, multiple hardware and control schemes) to understand play patterns, reduce churn, and make avatars feel more life-like for better player retention.

Partnering with Exostatic and using Treasure Data’s CDP to ingest server and client logs, Survios ran control-scheme, hero selection and match analyses that led to targeted fixes (e.g., simplifying Boss reload mechanics, adding auto-grip, boosting Saija’s health and improving tutorials). Access to 10x more granular data let the team prioritize features, increase tutorial completion and onboarding, improve engagement and retention, and accelerate commercial success.
