ZS Associates, a consulting firm, was grappling with significant travel booking leakage and a lack of data visibility as employees booked outside the designated TMC channel. Their challenge was to modernize their travel program by allowing booking flexibility on supplier sites without sacrificing the critical data needed for safety, expense management, and cost savings. To solve this, they partnered with vendor Traxo to capture and normalize this off-channel booking data.
Traxo's solution involved automatically capturing booking confirmations sent to employee email addresses, parsing the data, and feeding it into ZS's duty of care and expense management systems. This provided the necessary data to support travelers and analyze program spending, regardless of where they booked. As a result, ZS saw airline and hotel leakage decline significantly, with 30-40% of airline bookings successfully moving to the direct channel. The program improved traveler satisfaction and gave ZS Associates the data needed to manage their program effectively without restricting employee choice.
