Syracuse Hancock International Airport sought to move away from a reactive, paper-based janitorial operation to a more efficient, data-driven cleaning program. To achieve this, they partnered with TRAX Analytics to implement its Clean+Inspect and SmartRestroom solutions to gain real-time insights into cleaning needs and resource allocation.
TRAX Analytics provided a system using sensors, a mobile app, and feedback devices to collect data on restroom usage and cleaning performance. This data enabled the airport to optimize its operations, shifting to proactive cleaning based on real-time traffic. Key results included identifying peak usage times for better scheduling, determining it took an average of 10 minutes to clean a restroom, and conducting over 8,000 quality control inspections, which significantly streamlined their custodial services and generated savings.
