Miami-Dade Transit (MDT), one of the largest public transit systems in the U.S. and the largest in Florida, needed to improve scheduling, trip booking, and traveler information across its fixed-route and demand-response services. To support its complex operations, MDT worked with Trapeze Group and used products for fixed route scheduling, demand response scheduling, and traveler information.
Trapeze Group implemented an integrated transportation solution that automated fixed-route planning, enabled end-to-end paratransit management, and centralized traveler information through call center, IVR, web, and online trip-planning tools. The results included better operational efficiency, reduced call times, improved consistency of information, and 24/7 access to transit details; MDT also handled an average of 3,800 to 5,000 demand-response trips per day.
