A Trapeze Group Case Study
Hillsborough Area Regional Transit Authority (HART), a large public transit agency operating 187 buses and serving nearly 50,000 riders per day, needed a better way to manage parts because its manual, verbal request process led to lost, overordered, or underordered items. With parts representing a major budget expense, HART wanted to improve accountability and reduce downtime caused by missing spare parts. Trapeze Group’s Enterprise Asset Management system, including the Storekeeper Portal, was used to address this challenge.
Trapeze Group implemented the EAM Storekeeper Portal to automate part requests and create an electronic paper trail, reducing human error and eliminating duplicate orders. The result was a more efficient workflow that helped technicians spend more time on repairs and less time tracking parts. HART reported about a 20% efficiency improvement and a 25% reduction in labor time, along with fewer return parts and better ordering accuracy.
