Case Study: CATA reduces bid processing labor with Trapeze OPS Web

A Trapeze Group Case Study

Preview of the CATA Case Study

Enhancing the Management of Operations with Trapeze OPS-WEB

Capital Area Transportation Authority (CATA) needed a smoother way to move from a paper-based bidding process to a computerized one, while also reducing errors and giving operators better access to their own information. The agency’s main challenge was ensuring internal buy-in and training staff for a major change in workflow and computer usage. Trapeze Group provided OPS-WEB to support the transition.

Trapeze Group implemented OPS-WEB as a seamless extension of CATA’s existing Trapeze systems, with a test environment and product configuration tailored to CATA’s business needs. The result was a major reduction in administrative effort: bid processing dropped from 11–12 hours per day to 1 hour per day, saving about 130 labor hours during the 13-day bid cycle for 210 operators. CATA also saw fewer errors, better access to operator information, and stronger acceptance of new technology across the operator ranks.
