Case Study: Large Health Systems achieve higher reimbursement with TransUnion

A TransUnion Case Study

Preview of the Large Health Systems Case Study

Validating Comprehensive Insurance Discovery Against New, Internal Processes and External Vendors

Large Health Systems, one of the nation’s largest health systems, was looking to reduce costs and improve revenue cycle efficiency by changing internal patient access processes and adding a sequential, multi-vendor insurance discovery model. With TransUnion Healthcare as the last-in-line vendor, the health system needed to know whether missed coverage could still be found after other vendors had already searched.

TransUnion Healthcare worked with the health system to validate the new process through a two-year review of performance against nearly nine years of historical data. The results showed that, over the first six months, average reimbursement from the new upfront processes increased from $1.72M to $1.77M per month, while TransUnion Healthcare’s reimbursement rose from $874K to $919K per month even when running after other vendors, confirming TransUnion Healthcare delivered significant and predictable value.
