Transport for the North launches Open Data Hub in 2020 with TransportAPI

Transport for the North (TfN) faced the challenge of improving the passenger experience across Northern England by making multi-mode, multi-operator journeys simpler to find, pay for, and access. To meet this goal as part of their Integrated and Smart Travel Programme, they selected vendor TransportAPI to provide an Open Data Hub.

TransportAPI delivered the solution in the form of a RESTful API, which integrated complex data from numerous operators and authorities into a single, real-time source for disruptions and fares information. This hub serves as the definitive data portal to power journey improvements and will support TfN's ambition to provide reliable and quality travel information across its vast network.
