Case Study: iGenius achieves a scalable, human-like synthetic voice for Crystal with TransPerfect

Synthesizing Voice Through Cloud-based Innovation

iGenius developed Crystal, a virtual advisor that delivers data insights in natural language, and needed a synthetic voice that felt human, consistent, and reproducible at scale without costly studio sessions. To meet this challenge, iGenius partnered with TransPerfect’s DataForce (DAT AFORCE) and MediaNEXT to design a cloud-based recording and synthesis workflow tailored to Crystal’s persona.

TransPerfect’s DataForce helped source remote voice talent, design a phoneme-balanced script, and enable cloud recording (StudioNEXT/MediaNEXT), while iGenius trained a probabilistic speech model on the curated corpus. The result was a high-quality, human-like synthetic voice produced at scale, eliminating studio travel, speeding iteration, and leveraging DataForce’s global community (1,000,000 members) to ensure robust linguistic coverage—meeting iGenius’s technical and aesthetic goals and improving the user experience for data exploration.
