General Motors - Customer Case Study

General Motors (GM) sought to localize its Chevrolet website into Spanish and Chinese to better serve Hispanic and Chinese customers in the U.S. while simultaneously redesigning its English site. GM needed translations that preserved its brand voice and approved taglines, plus desktop publishing, graphic editing, and thorough functional and linguistic QA on a highly compressed timeline, so it engaged TransPerfect (using its GlobalLink GMS platform) to act as a single vendor for the initiative.

TransPerfect deployed GlobalLink GMS to streamline file transfer and workflow, created glossaries and style guides to ensure consistency, coordinated with GM’s design and advertising teams, and provided translation, desktop publishing, and extensive post-localization QA and testing. Both the Spanish and Chinese sites were released on schedule; TransPerfect continues to support GM with a Latin America Spanish site and the development of a Master Glossary, helping drive Chevrolet’s recognition in two of the fastest-growing U.S. market segments.
