Avis, one of the world’s leading car rental brands, engaged TransPerfect to localize its website and booking engine into Canadian French under tight deadlines. The project required localizing over half a million words while a new English site was being developed, handling dynamic authoring workflows and Oracle database text strings without breaking special characters or disrupting existing content management processes. TransPerfect implemented its GlobalLink™ Content Director to meet these technical and timing challenges.

TransPerfect integrated GlobalLink Content Director with Avis’s TeamSite UI and Oracle database, automating file extraction, FTP transfers, reintegration, change detection, and reporting so new and edited content could be translated within 24 hours. The solution improved quality and efficiency, enabled synchronization of multilingual sites with English updates, supported two additional language versions, and delivered significant cost savings—saving Avis the equivalent of more than 4,000 man-hours per year.
