Modern Times Group (MTG) is a multinational broadcaster operating across London and Riga, delivering around 110 channels in 130 countries. As it relocated its London playout centre and refreshed aging technology, MTG needed to move from siloed spreadsheets and legacy systems to a single, file-based, metadata-driven workflow that could support current services, new online and catch-up offerings, and seamless collaboration across both sites.

TransMedia Dynamics (TMD) implemented its Mediaflex-UMS asset management system as the core of the new architecture, integrating it with Pebble Beach Systems’ Marina automation and MTG’s other business systems. The solution automated workflows such as audio dubbing and subtitling, unified operations through a single portal, and enabled “ingest anywhere, play anywhere” between London and Riga. TransMedia Dynamics says the new system allows MTG to do more with the same headcount, handle more content from ingest to delivery, and support disaster recovery by running the whole operation from either site if needed.
