A Transfr Case Study
TRIO Electric, an electrical design, service, and construction company, faced a significant challenge in scaling its in-house training program for new electrician apprentices. With a shortage of skilled instructors and rising demand, their ability to prepare job seekers and students for the workforce was limited. TRIO partnered with virtual reality training vendor Transfr to overcome these constraints without expanding facilities or hiring more teaching staff.
Transfr worked closely with TRIO's subject matter experts to develop a suite of detailed VR simulations that replicate essential electrical construction tasks. This solution allowed trainees to safely practice skills with unlimited repetitions, eliminating the cost of consumable materials and the risk of injury. The results were highly effective, with over 3,600 simulations completed by 292 trainees. The program successfully equipped graduates with practical, job-ready skills, making them highly sought-after apprentices and accelerating their path to employment.
