A Transfr Case Study
Goodwill of Western Missouri & Eastern Kansas, a nonprofit workforce training provider also known as MoKan Goodwill, helps individuals facing significant barriers to employment find new career paths. Their challenge was to provide accessible exploration and training for high-tech careers across their large 82-county service area without the high cost and logistical difficulty of organizing site visits. To achieve this, they partnered with vendor Transfr and integrated its Career Exploration and Virtual Training simulations.
Transfr's solution provided immersive virtual reality learning that was integrated into the nonprofit's Bridge to Technology program. The VR headsets were also deployed via a mobile unit to reach both urban and rural communities. As a result of implementing Transfr's technology, MoKan Goodwill now gives 80-100 participants per year a chance to explore and train for new careers, with many graduates emerging with a defined career plan, new employment, or enrollment in further education.
