Arkansas Office of Skills Development Leverages VR

The Arkansas Office of Skills Development (OSD) faced the challenge of connecting students and job seekers with high-demand careers in the state. Traditional career exploration and training methods were not keeping pace, making it difficult for people to understand and experience potential new jobs. To address this, the OSD partnered with vendor Transfr to implement its immersive virtual reality learning platform for career exploration and skills training.

Using Transfr’s VR simulations, the OSD deployed headsets across community colleges and high schools, allowing users to explore various careers and practice skills in a safe, virtual environment. This solution from Transfr generated significant engagement, with over 5,120 users for career exploration and more than 4,500 simulations completed. The program successfully helped students grasp complex concepts and built excitement for technical education pathways.
