Tennis Australia, the organizer of the Australian Open, faced an immense challenge managing the massive volume of sensitive player and staff data required for the 2021 tournament under complex, ever-changing COVID-19 protocols. Their manual, disparate processes were unsustainable, requiring approximately 40 staff to work around the clock. For the 2022 event, they partnered with Transformd to digitize and streamline this data collection and management, aiming to improve both operational efficiency and the player experience.
Transformd implemented a centralized, secure platform that automated data collection and integrated in real-time with key partners like travel agency CTM. This solution eliminated double-handling for players, ensured high-quality data, and provided strict permission-based access. The results were significant, reducing the required staff for the task from 40 people working around the clock to a team of about 20 working regular hours, while vastly improving the experience for all participants.
