The Oregon Community Unit School District-220 Creates Multi-Tier Routes with RouteBuilder Implementation Service

Oregon Community Unit School District had to solve a transportation challenge that was affecting class time for its 7-8 students. Buses served four schools in Oregon and Mt. Morris on different schedules, and the district needed a way to create a routing plan that could be learned quickly and used easily.

The district purchased Transfinder’s Routefinder Pro in February 2009 and used the RouteBuilder GPS implementation service to capture actual bus paths and build routes from that data. With help from Transfinder, the transportation office was up and running by March 2009, and Vern Welp was able to create a multi-tier schedule with different bell times for each school, keeping all students in school for the same amount of time.
