Preview of the Central Lincoln County School System/AOS 93 Case Study

Since Implementing Routefinder Pro, AOS 93 Has Achieved Monetary Savings with Bus Consolidation and Increased Efficiency of Routes

Central Lincoln County School System/AOS 93, a district in mid-coast Maine serving seven rural communities, looked for ways to improve transportation efficiency, reduce student ride times, and get more accurate pickup, drop-off, and bus location information. The district was also working with 26 buses and separate elementary and secondary runs, and Superintendent Steven W. Bailey sought help from the State of Maine’s Department of Education and Transfinder.

Transfinder’s professional services team studied the district in 2015 and implemented changes in Routefinder Pro after loading student and bus stop data into the system. The district reduced routes from 8 to 7, which created monetary savings and improved efficiency, including shorter ride times; the longest rides are now 45-65 minutes. The district also gained better access to student location and ridership information and more accurate bus timing.
