A TransFi Case Study
Zagrebačka Banka, a Croatian bank, faced the challenge of enabling its business and freelancer customers to send and receive USDT payments despite the bank's own cautious stance on cryptocurrencies and lack of direct support for stablecoin rails. The challenge involved navigating bank reluctance, regulatory grey areas, and the need for a secure conversion and settlement process into euros or Croatian kuna for use with local accounts. The vendor TransFi provided its BizPay platform to address this.
TransFi's solution provided a compliant payment platform that seamlessly connected crypto and traditional banking rails. It enabled customers to easily convert fiat currency from their Zagrebačka Banka accounts into USDT for payouts, and to receive USDT and convert it back into fiat for deposit. While specific metrics are not provided, the solution effectively allowed for instant settlement, access to mid-market FX rates, and global payment reach while still utilizing the customer's local Croatian bank account for the fiat leg of all transactions.
