A TransFi Case Study
Bancolombia, a major Colombian bank, sought to modernize its cross-border payment infrastructure for its business clients. The challenge was to enable these clients to efficiently receive and send international payments while mitigating the high costs, latency, and currency risks associated with traditional rails. To address this, Bancolombia partnered with vendor TransFi to leverage its stablecoin payment solutions.
TransFi implemented a solution that integrates USDT stablecoins with Colombia's local payment rails, including the PSE (Pagos Seguros en Línea) online transfer system and Bancolombia's banking network. This provided businesses with a streamlined process for global USDT collections and local payouts, which are converted into Colombian pesos (COP) and settled directly into bank accounts. The results achieved include faster settlement times, reduced transaction costs from fewer intermediaries, and enhanced transparency, allowing Colombian businesses to capture global USD value efficiently.
