Sabesp, Latin America's largest water utility, faced the challenge of planning over 400 wastewater treatment plants to meet ambitious government deadlines. They needed a faster alternative to time-consuming consultant-led studies to scale their program effectively. To address this, they turned to vendor Transcend and utilized their product, the Transcend Design Generator (TDG).

Using the TDG Wastewater Treatment module, Sabesp was able to bring the planning process in-house. The Transcend solution enabled them to generate and evaluate 18 viable design alternatives for a key plant, which was six times more options than a traditional approach. This accelerated their planning timeline by eight times, reducing it from two months to just one week and allowing them to move to contracting much more quickly.
