The University of Pittsburgh faced a challenge with its portal's limited search functionality, which could not index services across the university's many websites and lacked personalization features like bookmarking. To address this, the university partnered with vendor TransAct Communications and implemented its OneCampus solution to create a more scalable and mobile-friendly service discovery application.

TransAct Communications' OneCampus provided a powerful search engine and personalized user experience, allowing users to favorite tasks. The solution was successfully integrated into the existing portal, easing the transition. The implementation empowered individual departments to manage their own content, resulting in the addition of over 800 tasks and a significantly enhanced service discovery experience for the university's 34,500 students and 12,600 faculty and staff.
