How Wisconsin Improved Outcomes for Students and 21CCLC Federal Reporting Operations

The University of Wisconsin—Green Bay, tasked with running the statewide evaluation for Wisconsin’s 21st Century Community Learning Centers, faced significant challenges. A small team led by Dr. Jenell Holstead had to manage new, complex federal GPRA reporting measures and a growing number of program sites, all while navigating disruptions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. The team needed a robust system to organize data collection and simplify the demanding new federal reporting requirements.

TransAct Communications implemented its AfterSchool21 (AS21) software as the solution. The system was quickly adapted to meet the new federal mandates, automatically calculating complex outcome measures and seamlessly pushing certified data into the federal 21APR system. For the customer, TransAct eliminated manual data calculation, drastically reduced the potential for errors, and provided immense relief to the sites. The software enabled the small state team to efficiently monitor and manage data for nearly 155 sites, putting them on track to meet their data entry goals.
