Wythe County Community Hospital - Customer Case Study

Wythe County Community Hospital, a 104-bed acute care facility serving Wythe and Bland counties, needed to replace its operating room air handling systems with minimal disruption to surgery schedules. Trane Commercial was brought in to help the hospital maintain JCAHO standards for temperature, humidity, and airflow while avoiding interruptions to the operating suite.

Trane Commercial replaced the old system with new Trane air handling units, including a new Climate Changer™ air handler and two M-Series™ units, along with new DDC controls integrated into the existing Tracer Summit™ automation system. The project also included new hot and chilled water, steam, and electric services, careful pressurization control during construction, and full project management, balancing, and startup support. As a result, WCCH got updated operating room and sterile supply ventilation with improved monitoring and zone control, helping the hospital meet required environmental standards.
