The company turned to Trane Commercial for help with a three-year plan to upgrade its chilled water systems and controls, using Trane’s expertise and Tracer Summit building automation technology to improve efficiency and reliability.

Trane Commercial recommended replacing the original plan with three chillers instead of four and integrating the cooling plant into a single, energy-efficient system, supported by a Trane Select Service Agreement. The project cut lens production costs by 50 percent and delivers about €144,000 ($192,000 USD) in annual energy savings, reduced energy use per lens by 40 percent, and lowered cooling costs from 15 percent to about 8 percent of annual electrical costs.
