Thermal Solutions Products, LLC, a member of Burnham Holdings, needed a rental cooling solution to support third-party witnessed testing for its Solaris and Evolution boilers and water heaters. The challenge was maintaining very precise water temperatures during efficiency certification tests, including return-water temperatures below 80°F, while also handling cooling demands during summer months. After a frustrating five-month search for a provider, Thermal Solutions turned to Trane Commercial and Trane Rental Services for help.

Trane Commercial provided a complete solution with a 120-ton air-cooled rotary chiller and a 350 kW generator, supported by Trane process engineering and technical guidance to ensure the equipment was properly sized and easy to operate. The setup met all witnessed test requirements, enabling Thermal Solutions Products to obtain efficiency certifications. The well-matched system also delivered measurable savings, with final fuel costs about one-third of what had been expected because the chiller and generator rarely ran at full capacity.
