The Petroleum Building in Denver partnered with Trane Commercial to modernize its aging, fully manual HVAC system. The historic high-rise was vulnerable to staffing gaps and couldn’t heat and cool different areas at the same time, creating comfort issues for tenants and limiting the building’s ability to retain and attract leases.

Trane Commercial implemented a Trane Turnkey Contracting solution with a performance guarantee, replacing key mechanical components, adding a boiler plant, upgrading the chiller, installing lighting retrofits, and deploying a Tracer Summit building automation system with direct digital controls. The project restored the system to its intended design, improved flexibility and tenant comfort, and is expected to save $117,000 annually in energy and operating costs with an eleven-year payback.
