The Oxford Hotel cuts electric costs 48% with Trane Commercial

The Oxford Hotel, a historic luxury hotel in Denver, faced the challenge of upgrading its outdated 1982 HVAC system. The project required a solution that would ensure guest comfort, preserve the building's historic charm and its valuable art collection, and significantly improve energy efficiency. To address this, the hotel partnered with Trane Commercial for the installation of new high-efficiency chillers and a building automation system.

Trane Commercial implemented a solution featuring two high-efficiency Series R helical rotary screw chillers and a Tracer Summit building automation system. This new HVAC system, which also included a free cooling feature, delivered substantial energy savings. The hotel reported electricity costs dropping by as much as 63.8% in a single month, with overall kW usage down nearly 25%, resulting in significant cost reductions and a $34,000 utility rebate.
