The Oxford Hotel - Customer Case Study

The Oxford Hotel, a historic luxury boutique hotel in lower downtown Denver, needed to replace an HVAC system last upgraded in 1982. The hotel’s challenge was to improve guest comfort and energy efficiency while preserving its original charm and protecting its historic artwork with better temperature and humidity control. Trane Commercial was selected to help meet these needs.

Trane Commercial installed two Trane RTWD Series R helical rotary chillers, a Trane Tracer Summit building automation system, and a plate-and-frame heat exchanger for winter free cooling. The new system improved HVAC efficiency, earned about $34,000 in rebates from Xcel Energy, reduced kW usage by nearly 25%, and cut electricity costs by up to 63.8% month over month compared with the previous year.
