Texas State Technical College - Customer Case Study

Texas State Technical College (TSTC), an independent state technical college system serving nearly 30,000 students, faced aging infrastructure, poor humidity control, and inefficient mechanical systems across campus. With expansion plans underway and a need to minimize disruption to daily operations, TSTC turned to Trane Commercial for a major HVAC and building systems upgrade.

Trane Commercial delivered a phased design-build solution that added a new chiller plant, replaced rooftop and DX systems with Trane EarthWise™ CenTraVac™ water-cooled chillers, converted air distribution to VAV, upgraded BAS controls, and installed lighting and solar PV improvements. The project stayed on budget and on time, helped TSTC secure $610,000 in incentives, and reduced non-weather-adjusted energy use by 25.5 percent, saving about $344,000 while improving control, reliability, and campus comfort.
