Texas RoadHouse - Customer Case Study

Texas Roadhouse, the fast-growing casual restaurant chain, needed to improve kitchen comfort for employees and guests while managing the high heat and humidity caused by conventional makeup air systems in its backshelf hood kitchens. Trane Commercial partnered with LCSystems to address the issue, using a kitchen HVAC approach built around a Dedicated Outdoor Air Rooftop (DOAR) unit and Total Kitchen HVAC® system.

Trane Commercial implemented the Total Kitchen HVAC® system, which supplies 100% outside air and combines heating, cooling, and ventilation to better control temperature and humidity while using 35% less airflow than older systems. The test installations in Austin and two other sites improved kitchen conditions to about 78°F, delivered significant monthly energy savings, and reduced maintenance costs, leading Texas Roadhouse to make the Trane solution the standard for all new locations nationwide.
