SSM Health Care, building its new SSM St. Clare Health Center in Fenton, Missouri, wanted to create a patient-centered, safe, efficient healing environment that would boost satisfaction, improve clinical outcomes, and stay within budget. To support that goal, Trane Commercial provided HVAC equipment, controls, and services for the hospital, along with project management and building automation capabilities.

Trane Commercial implemented a Tracer Summit building automation system, Trane Active Monitoring, and service agreements, plus chillers and other HVAC equipment to optimize performance across the 180-bed hospital. The results were strong: energy use came in 25% below projections, plant operating costs were 16% below the all-network average, and the hospital quickly reached capacity with high satisfaction scores, including a 94th percentile inpatient recommendation rating and 94th percentile employee engagement.
