Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology needed to replace aging 20-year-old chillers serving its Memorial Union and nearby campus buildings. The school wanted a solution that would increase efficiency and cooling capacity for the expanded student center while staying within budget, and it turned to Trane Commercial for help.

Trane Commercial recommended two 320-ton Trane CenTraVac centrifugal water-cooled chillers, using its TOPSS Chiller Selection Program to optimize the design for performance and cost. The new system improved comfort and quiet operation, helped lower energy costs, and earned Rose-Hulman a $16,000 utility rebate.
