PCI Developments achieves 70% renewable energy and LEED Gold with Trane

PCI Developments faced the challenge of efficiently providing heating and cooling for its large, mixed-use Marine Gateway development while reducing its carbon footprint and meeting city renewable energy requirements. Instead of individual building systems, they sought a centralized district energy plant solution and engaged Trane Commercial for its expertise.

Trane collaborated on the design and implementation of a low carbon district energy plant that combined geoexchange and heat-recovery systems. The solution utilized Trane chillers, including dedicated heat recovery chillers and Optimus™ water-cooled chillers. This system helped the development achieve LEED Gold certification and significantly reduced its carbon footprint by exceeding its target of using 70 percent renewable energy.
