Pala Casino Spa & Resort in Pala, California partnered with Trane Commercial to address the complexity of managing a growing, phased-expanded entertainment, hotel, spa, and resort property. As the facility added rooftop units, a cooling tower, and a central plant over time, it needed a building management solution to monitor and control multiple systems, improve comfort, and better understand energy use trends.

Trane Commercial conducted an Energy Assessment and implemented central plant optimization, kitchen exhaust upgrades, and controls improvements, supported by Tracer BAS and Trane Intelligent Services. The project converted the chiller plant to variable-primary flow, added Adaptive Frequency Drives to two 500-ton CenTraVac chillers, and optimized restaurant ventilation controls. Results included an estimated $338,000 in first-year electrical savings, nearly 1,932,000 kWh reduced, and more than $238,000 in rebates, while also improving comfort and earning Pala Casino Spa & Resort an SDG&E Energy Champion Award.
