Pacific Palms Resort in City of Industry, California, faced a major HVAC challenge in its 35-year-old convention center. Much of the original equipment and pneumatic controls had become highly inefficient, driving up energy use, increasing operating costs, and creating comfort issues. To address these problems and support its sustainability goals, the resort turned to Trane Commercial for an energy evaluation and improvement plan.

Trane Commercial delivered a comprehensive upgrade that included a Trane Energy Assessment, Energy Optics analysis, new chillers, pumps, modular hot water boilers, thermal energy storage, improved air-handler controls, and a Tracer SC building automation system with Energy Performance monitoring. The result was nearly $342,900 in first-year energy savings, about $203,000 in operational savings, and approximately $500,000 in utility rebates. With Trane Commercial’s solutions, Pacific Palms Resort improved comfort, reduced energy use, and lowered overall operating costs.
