Ocean Spray, North America’s leading juice producer, needed to upgrade its Middleboro, Massachusetts facility to support sweetened dried cranberry production. The challenge was to add a new process cooling and HVAC infrastructure—while reducing construction complexity and cost overruns through a single source provider. Trane Commercial was selected to act as the owner consultant and deliver the required chiller plant, air handling, and controls.

Trane Commercial installed a 500-ton Trane Model CVHE CenTraVac centrifugal chiller with a variable frequency drive, a 75-ton IntelliPak rooftop system, three T-Series rooftop air handlers delivering 125,000 CFM, and a Tracer Summit building automation system. The project was completed on time and under budget, improved critical cooling for manufacturing and the data center, and was supported through commissioning, validation, and ongoing maintenance. Ocean Spray reported exceptional service and has since reapplied the design at other facilities.
