Mercedes-Benz USA worked with Trane Commercial after one of the chillers at its North American headquarters failed, creating an immediate need for more cooling capacity and a reliable long-term replacement. The company wanted a solution that would improve employee comfort, minimize disruption, and deliver better energy performance, using chiller and controls technology.

Trane Commercial replaced the aging equipment with two high-efficiency Trane water-cooled CenTraVac centrifugal chillers, added pumps and a cooling tower, installed variable frequency drives, and implemented a Trane Tracer Summit building automation system. The upgrade improved reliability, reduced energy demand, and enhanced occupant comfort, while also earning Mercedes-Benz USA a $78,000 New Jersey energy rebate.
