Maury County Public Schools - Customer Case Study

Maury County Public Schools, a large K-12 district in Columbia, Tennessee, was struggling with poor indoor air quality, comfort issues, aging HVAC infrastructure, limited controls, and rising energy and maintenance costs. With deferred maintenance and a stretched budget, the district needed a way to upgrade facilities and manage energy use without asking taxpayers for additional funding.

Trane Commercial implemented a performance guarantee contract through the Trane Building Advantage portfolio, along with building automation systems, HVAC upgrades, lighting improvements, weatherization, and other energy conservation measures. With Trane’s help, the district gained better building control, improved classroom comfort and air quality, and reduced utility costs by $365,824 during construction, with projected annual energy savings of more than $400,000.
