Lakota School District - Customer Case Study

Lakota School District, one of the largest districts in southwestern Ohio, needed to modernize 25 aging buildings to improve comfort, reliability, maintainability, and energy efficiency across its schools. Trane Commercial partnered with the district to assess facilities and identify cost-justified upgrades, using energy audits, building assessments, and performance contracting to plan the work.

Trane Commercial implemented a three-phase facilities upgrade that included HVAC equipment replacements, controls modernization with Tracer ES and DDC, lighting and water conservation upgrades, VFDs, and mechanical commissioning. The project is expected to save $927,000 annually in energy and operating costs, with phase one already outperforming projections by 15% and generating $382,000 in utility rebates.
