Kemper Development Company improves Lincoln Square South efficiency to 0.49 kW/ton with Trane Commercial

Kemper Development Company sought to improve energy efficiency and remain budget responsible for the expansion of its Lincoln Square South complex. They partnered with Trane Commercial and contractor MacDonald Miller Facility Solutions to address these challenges with a new centralized mechanical system.

The solution implemented by Trane included the installation of a central plant featuring four CenTraVac water-cooled chillers, Performance Climate Changer air handlers, and UniTrane fan coil units. The results were improved energy efficiency, with the plant operating at .49 kW/ton in part-load conditions, and enhanced comfort for tenants. Trane's involvement was noted as critical to the project's organized and timely execution.
