Jewish Eldercare Centre in Montreal, Quebec, needed to replace aging boiler and control systems that were no longer reliable enough to maintain proper humidity and temperature for residents. With a limited capital budget, a need for better comfort and reliability, and pressure to reduce energy use, the facility turned to Trane Commercial for an upgrade path that could also help secure financing through guaranteed savings.

Trane Commercial implemented a geo-exchange heat/cool system with new natural gas boilers, a Trane Series R™ Helical Rotary Water-Cooled Chiller, lighting and ventilation upgrades, and a Trane® Tracer™ ES building management solution, along with maintenance support. The project is projected to save more than $250,000 annually in energy costs and about $20,000 per year in operating and maintenance costs, while improving comfort, reliability, and plant capacity for residents and staff.
