A Trane Commercial Case Study
Hunter Industries, a global manufacturer of landscape irrigation and lighting products, set out to renovate a nearly 49,000-square-foot two-building complex into high-occupancy office space and a large employee workout facility. The company needed an HVAC solution that would support its sustainability goals, improve comfort for diverse spaces, and help it pursue LEED certification. Trane Commercial was asked to provide a system that could meet these energy efficiency and comfort challenges.
Trane Commercial recommended and installed a Trane® variable refrigerant flow (VRF) system, using small-diameter refrigerant piping, zone controls, and variable-speed compressors to deliver efficient heating and cooling only where needed. The solution reduced installation costs by avoiding major ductwork and chiller replacement, while helping lower energy use and support quiet, individualized comfort throughout the building. Hunter Industries said the system let employees set their own temperatures, and the company praised Trane Commercial for delivering a cutting-edge, efficient solution.
