Homestead High School in Mequon, Wisconsin faced declining enrollment and lower revenues, which made it difficult to keep operating costs down while maintaining a strong learning environment and supporting significant after-hours community use. To address rising gas and electric bills and demand charges, the school turned to Trane Commercial and its Trane Energy Performance service to help manage energy use more effectively.

Trane Commercial implemented its analytics-based Energy Performance solution, giving Homestead High School real-time data, dashboards, trending tools, and KPI reporting to improve decision-making around HVAC, lighting, and overall building operations. With Trane’s coaching and analysis, the school gained better visibility into energy costs and usage patterns, ran about 10% below similar buildings in electrical energy consumption, and expects to save more than $40,000 annually.
