High Museum of Art maintains 72°F ±2° climate control with Trane Commercial

The High Museum of Art faced a challenge to rapidly install a climate control system capable of meeting strict environmental standards in order to secure a major exhibition from the Louvre. They needed to demonstrate precision control of temperature and humidity to preserve priceless artworks. The museum called on Trane Commercial to provide a solution using its Performance Climate Changer® air handlers and Tracer® building automation systems.

Trane implemented a system that included new chillers, sophisticated air handlers, and VAV units, all controlled by a Tracer Summit automation system. This solution provided the required precision, maintaining a stable environment of 72 degrees Fahrenheit (±2°) and 50% humidity (±5%). As a result, the High Museum successfully secured the three-year Louvre exhibition, nearly doubled its collection size, and achieved a membership ranking among the top 10 art museums in the U.S.
