A Trane Commercial Case Study
High Museum of Art, part of the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, needed highly precise temperature and humidity control to protect valuable art collections and meet strict environmental requirements for incoming exhibitions. Trane Commercial was brought in to help address this challenge during a fast-track expansion that added new museum space and demanded documented, stable indoor conditions before exhibits could be shown.
Trane Commercial designed and supplied a new chiller plant and HVAC controls package, including a 450-ton heat recovery centrifugal chiller, a 500-ton high-efficiency chiller, 16 Climate Changer air handlers, 101 VAV units, and a Tracer Summit building automation system. The system was completed on time and has performed very well, maintaining the museum at 72°F ±2° and 50% relative humidity ±5%, helping High Museum of Art preserve artwork and support major exhibitions.
