Harford County Public School District, serving Homestead-Wakefield Elementary in Bel Air, Maryland, needed to replace an aging 1960s HVAC system that was nearing the end of its useful life and threatening classroom comfort. Vendor Trane Commercial helped address the challenge, with the school seeking a fast replacement of a failing reciprocating chiller before the cooling season began.

Trane Commercial implemented a turnkey solution using The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN), installing a high-efficiency 100-ton Trane Water-Cooled Series R™ RTWD chiller and a Trane Tracer™ SC System Controller. The new system improved reliability, energy efficiency, and remote monitoring while helping the district meet tight deadlines and ensure a comfortable learning environment for students, teachers, and staff.
