A Trane Commercial Case Study
The Grand Hyatt New York, a major hospitality company, faced the challenge of meeting its corporate sustainability goals due to an aging infrastructure and a building automation system that could not optimally manage its various mechanical systems. Seeking to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions while improving financial performance, the hotel partnered with Trane Commercial. Trane recommended a retrofit of the building automation system and the implementation of its Tracer Ensemble building management system and Intelligent Services.
Trane Commercial implemented its Tracer Ensemble system and Energy Performance and Energy Assessment services to provide a centralized, web-enabled view of the facility and advanced energy analytics. This solution enabled the Grand Hyatt to optimize operations, identify energy waste, and make cost-effective decisions. As a result, the hotel reduced its energy use by over 1.3 million kWh, cut CO2 emissions by 916 metric tons, and achieved over $271,000 in annual operating cost savings, in addition to capitalizing on utility rebates estimated at more than $600,000.
